Rachel Kaye Design is a boutique interior design studio founded by Rachel Kaye Coutier, where architecture-driven interiors merge with layered materiality and couture-level detailing, resulting in a refined global sensibility.
After studying architecture and interior design on the American East Coast, Rachel built her career between New York and Los Angeles, training under several celebrated American designers, including Peter Marino, Timothy Corrigan, and Michael S. Smith. Over two decades, she honed her mastery of architectural detail, artisanship, and design through projects spanning the United States, Europe, and Asia. Her work has included luxury Fifth Avenue residences in New York City, an agrarian Montecito estate, a storybook chalet in the Swiss Alps, and a mega-yacht in Southeast Asia.
In 2022, Rachel founded her Los Angeles–based design practice, later establishing an international studio presence with an expanded home base in Paris. Grounded in architecture and guided by a deep reverence for craftsmanship, she approaches each project through three lenses: the geographic context of the site, the architectural language of the space, and the character and spirit of the client. RKD spaces are layered with tactile dimension and tailored detail, where historic and cultural influences harmonize with a modern perspective, and where vintage and artisanal elements pair with custom work to create interiors with sophistication and depth.
All projects at Rachel Kaye Design begin with hand sketches and floor plans, allowing ideas to unfold in a human, intuitive way before evolving into a highly technical and detailed design process. The studio’s work feels composed and intentional—defined by soul and a sense of ease meant for real living.
